Twitter recently added a “Report [X user] for Spam” link to users’ profiles. This makes reporting spam accounts easier than before – up until now, you had to report spam messages via a @spam direct message.
This is definitely a step in the right direction – Twitter spammers, who mass follow users in an effort to get them to click on their links, are ruining the Twitter experience for many users and have even caused Robert Cringley of Infoworld to pronounce Twitter as dead a couple of weeks ago.
Hint: The hot girl who just started following you and is looking for adventure? Most likely, she (or he) is a spammer. Use that link to report them instead of just blocking them – we need to get rid of social media spammers if we want social media to survive.
